Quartz diorite.
H. 13.7 cm, W. 16.7 cm, D. 15.5 cm
The head represents a man of high rank. The face is round, with prominent cheekbones. The eyebrows are slightly raised, and the eyes are almond-shaped. The nose is straight and broad at the tip, the lips fleshy with a well-marked philtrum.
The figure wears an embossed, wrap-around wig with fine, vertically engraved wavy strands.
Provenance :
Former private collection of Madame E. M.
Acquired by herself from an antique dealer in Egypt during a trip at the end of 1964 (mentioned in the period travel diary, copy available).
